Each best fake watches is powered by the company’s new Caliber B19.
Innovation in precision watchmaking comes in many forms, but perhaps the most complex (and arguably the most difficult) is the introduction of a new watch movement, such as Breitling’s new Caliber B19. Now, it’s found its way into three elegant and powerful watches.
The new movement marks a significant moment in Breitling’s 140th anniversary of timekeeping, with the Swiss watchmaker going all-in on its Swiss-designed and assembled movements. Based on Breitling’s original Caliber 01, the movement is even more impressive in that it powers a range of new watches. The most notable of these is the Breitling Supermechanical Chronograph B19 Perpetual Calendar, the company’s first foray into this intricate complication.
This beautiful watch harkens back to the 1980s, when, as Breitling puts it, it “helped revive the popularity of mechanical chronographs in an era dominated by quartz watches.” This time around, it’s given a sporty yet elegant appeal with a rubber version of the original Rouleaux bracelet. The skeletonized dial features raised bezel labels at every 15-minute mark, while the 18-karat red gold case is equally distinctive.
The Breitling Navitimer B19 Chronograph also blends sophistication with aviation practicality, another nod to the functionality of the original watch, which combined a chronograph with a wrist-worn circular slide rule while retaining the elegance of the watch. This watch also features a striking 18-karat red gold case, while the black alligator leather strap exudes class.
Rounding out the trio is the bold and beautiful Breitling Premier B19 Datora, a nod to the watch that debuted in 1943. Decades ago, founder Willy Breitling called this watch “a symbol of ‘impeccable taste,’” and according to the company, its modern version is just as impressive. Arabic numerals and square pushers give this watch a distinctive air, as does the black alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching.
While each buying replica watch has its own unique appeal, the full launch of the B19 movement breaks new ground for the historic watchmaker: Breitling notes that the perpetual calendar movement “will run for a century without any major adjustments.” Given Breitling’s penchant for heritage and respect for history while always paying homage to modern innovation, it’s safe to assume that the company’s Swiss timepieces will continue to be popular for the next century and beyond.
